“The best parts about the Folk School are the community you feel for the week, and getting to learn something you couldn’t learn anywhere else,” says Pattie Bagley, resident artist in Basketry and Gourd Craft, Brooms, and Chair Seats.

Pattie first came to the Folk School 12 years ago first as a student learning how to rip oak trees to make baskets.  She is now one of the many talented instructors who teach here at the John C. Campbell Folk School.

Pattie and many other artists have donated fine art and craft pieces to the Gala and Benefit Auction which will be held this Saturday, June 11 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Keith House.

Tickets may be purchased at the Craft Shop and online. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and $15 for “Friends of the Folk School” (donors who have donated  $500 or more in 2011).  Tickets include admission, heavy hors d’oeuvres and two drink tickets.
