The June Gala and Benefit Auction was a huge success this year. The art was amazing and the décor was outstanding. It was a wonderful evening of frivolity, fantastic art, fellowship, and food. Oh, the food! Steve Cipriano, the Dining Hall staff, and Nanette Davidson outdid themselves again this year. There were flavors galore. It wasn’t simply delicious food— it was a visual sensation. Each dish, from the pulled pork and pickled shrimp to the deviled eggs and stuffed mushrooms to the cheese pennies and baked Brie, was arranged perfectly with garnishes to accentuate the beautiful dishes.
If you hadn’t eaten yourself into a food-induced coma you would have enjoyed Tim Ryan and Bob Grove at their best. The two auctioneers led a fevered live auction that helped raise $18,649.19 to help continue the School’s mission and improve our studios.
I would like to especially thank all of our contributing artists. Your beautiful work was the centerpiece of this auction and without your creativity and dedication this event would have not been such a wonderful success. I would also like to thank all of the volunteers who helped with this year’s event, especially our current Work/Study Students, for all of their hard work and energy.
If you missed the festivities you can join us for the Blacksmith and Fine Craft Auction that will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at 1 p.m. in the Keith House Community Room.
