We meet all kinds of interesting people at the Craft Shop!
Today, we had a visit from someone who shares a part of our history, John Folger, Professor Emeritus, Vanderbilt University from Nashville, TN.
John is the son of the late D. F. Folger who was Director of the Folk School for three years, following Olive Campbell’s retirement in 1946.
John was in his early twenties during the time his father served as Director and remembers working in the Woodturning Studio, making blanks for the carvers. He also recalls the Creches were made from holly because it was the whitest wood. He told us his father thought a lot of Olive.
Thanks for coming by the Craft Shop, John, and sharing your memories with us!
