Gretchen-IMG_3079Come warm yourself with good dancing and community cheer this Saturday, February 8, from 8-11 pm. Expect a lovely evening of contras, squares, and circle dances to live music by the Gretchen & The F-Holes with calling by Andrea Nettleton.

Andrea Nettleton is a new caller who is making a name for herself at dances throughout the region including Atlanta, Chattanooga and River Falls.

Gretchen and the F Holes are a local group who play regionally as well as for many of our Tuesday night dances. They make good use of our baby grand piano! (F holes refer to the two holes shaped like fancy F’s on the top of a violin.)

About Annie Fain Barralon

Annie Fain is a native of the crafts and music/dance community of Brasstown and is now the Folk School’s Music & Dance Coordinator. She teaches a variety of classes at the school including book arts, clawhammer banjo, Appalachian clogging, and waltz clogging. Annie Fain plays banjo and banjo uke for the all-woman string band, Blue Eyed Girl, and has danced with both Loafers Glory Clog Morris and the Green Grass Cloggers. She continues to sell her handmade books, greeting cards, and original watercolors regionally and always wishes there were more time in a day!
