Please join us on May 27 for an evening of friendly camaraderie, delicious food and drink, live music and, new this year, a raffle for door prizes. This year, we are celebrating and honoring those artists who week after week share their handmade skills with our students. We invite you to join us in this celebration by bidding on the pieces that speak to you in a live and silent auction. Jack Smoot, JCCFS Board member and woodworking instructor, will be your emcee, and Bob Grove and Tim Ryan will lead the bidding. Donated items are on display in the Keith Community Room or visit our online auction item preview. All proceeds benefit the craft programs at the Folk School.
Saturday, May 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. Keith House, Community Room One Folk School Road Brasstown, NC 28902

We are grateful for all the love and good energy our staff, volunteers, local potters, and attendees brought to this year’s Empty Bowls event. We were fortunate to raise over $7000 during this annual benefit, which enables us to donate to the Cherokee and Clay County Food Banks.
Children of all ages gathered on Saturday, April 15 at the Folk School for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. A big thanks to David Brose and his volunteers for making the event happen. We love seeing all the smiling faces and families frolicking out in the sunshine. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.
We are so lucky that Brasstown is in the direct path of the total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017. Join us at 2:35 p.m. EDT on August 21, and view a two-minute space show of epic proportions. While you’re here, enjoy a relaxing weeklong Folk School class in our beautiful mountains. Immerse yourself in a craft, discover nature photography, or learn to brew artisan beer. Here are just a few of our “Eclipse Week” class offerings.
